This course introduces basic concepts of intercultural encounters drawing from cross-cultural issues which take place in various settings. Instructed in English, this course is designed for the following students: international students, upper-intermediate and advanced level students who wish to study abroad or who have returned from their study-abroad experience.

*First-year students will have a brief interview in English during the first class.

Students are expected to understand and apply concepts of intercultural encounters in a variety of contexts.

Students will engage in activities, such as discussions and group work. Reading the assigned pages in advance and preparing weekly journal entries are essential, as the lectures are based on the course material. The syllabus is subject to change, contingent upon the availability of guest speakers.
