授業の内容
This class will explore the evolution and future potential of anime, a major pillar in Japan's economic stimulation policy known as "Cool Japan." Throughout the course we will attempt to look at how anime is produced, its role within multimedia marketing business models, but also its historical origins and cultural impact not only domestically, but also throughout the world. Additionally, we will track the latest developments in the current affairs surrounding the anime industry including labour issues and threats to its stability, from a variety of different perspectives. |
到達目標
The course is designed to serve as a way for students not only to learn about the topic itself, but also to exchange opinions with each other on the topic, formulating a more meaningful exchange of ideas, since every participant has a different background. Rather than a one-directional approach, the lectures are structured loosely to allow for rich multilateral discussions on a variety of topics and thus each student can become a contributor to a fresh perspective for the rest of the class. This will help to develop analytical and critical skills, differentiating subjective and objective statements, and thus gain a more holistic yet detailed outlook on the topics at hand. |
