Japanese (Advanced)ⅡB <Writing>

The purpose of this course is to develop practical writing skills, focusing on creating texts that are clear and easy for readers to understand. Students will pay attention to paragraph structure and vocabulary choices appropriate to the medium. Additionally, students will deepen the content of their work by exchanging feedback and opinions with their peers.

・Student will be able to write an e-mail requesting a superior.
・Students will be able to write situational descriptions, opinion pieces, and sentences reporting on their experiences.
・Students will be able to read sentences written by others and exchange opinions.

This course consists of lectures and writing exercises. In the writing exercises, students will be required to compose emails, situation descriptions, opinion pieces, and reports based on their personal experiences. Students will also engage in discussions about their writing with classmates.
All lectures and learning activities will be conducted in Japanese.
Students are required to bring their own computers, as writing will be done using a computer in this course.

This course is primarily taught in the form of exercises and will be held on campus. In the event of an emergency that requires a shift to remote learning, classes will be conducted via Zoom.

The content and schedule may change depending on the number of students etc.

Students will receive a comment sheet describing what they did well on the assignment and what they need to improve on.

Complete and rewrite essays depending on the progress of the class. Estimated self-studying hours: approx. 1 hour per class.

1回の授業につき予習・復習あわせて最低1時間の学修が必要となります。
「授業時間外の学修（予習・復習等）」に明記されている想定学修時間の合計が1時間を上回っている場合は、その学修時間を必要とします。

Note: You cannot receive credit for a course if you are absent more than 4 times. Please note that arriving more than 30 minutes late to a class or leaving a class when there are 30 minutes or more of the class period left will count as an absence. In addition, arriving to class less than 30 minutes late 3 times will count as 1 absence. Similarly leaving class early 3 times (when there are less than 30 minutes of the class left) will count as an absence.

Please bring your textbook. Handouts will be given in class.

Will be introduced as necessary.

Students are expected to actively participate in class and engage in meaningful discussions with their classmates to deepen their understanding of the topics.
