Japanese (Intermediate) IV

Japanese (Intermediate) Ⅳ <Integrated Japanese>

This course is intended for students who have developed solid lower-intermediate Japanese skills, corresponding roughly to the CEFR B1 level.The course aims to help students strengthen their overall command of Japanese and acquire the ability to communicate effectively in a wider range of social and academic situations.
Will learn to create their own learning autonomously through activities, such as choosing their own reading material or researching and presenting what they are interested in. Be able to communicate in Japanese and exchange simple opinions about what they feel and what they are interested in.
Please note that the course content is subject to change as needed.

Students will be able to develop own methods for learning Japanese.
Students will be able to present opinions on topics of interest.
Students will be able to make short presentations on topics of interest.
Students will be able to conduct a survey among Japanese students about a topic that interests you and give a poster presentation based on the survey.
Through the process of achieving the task including discussion, design and development, students will acquire comprehensive Japanese skills.
Students will be able to understand other people's opinions in depth.

Read books of interest, and make a comment about them.
Listen to fairly long text and discuss the content.
Make a short presentation on a topic of interest.
Create and conduct a questionnaire on a topic of interest, and give a poster presentation based on it.
All lectures and learning activities will be conducted in Japanese.

Detailed schedule will be given out on the first day.

At the beginning of the class, give feedback on the good points of the previous report assignment and points to be improved.

Prepare for each class activities.
Review the things you learned in the class and try to use them after the class.
At least 1 hour per class including preparation and review.

1回の授業につき予習・復習あわせて最低1時間の学修が必要となります。
「授業時間外の学修（予習・復習等）」に明記されている想定学修時間の合計が1時間を上回っている場合は、その学修時間を必要とします。

The normal score evaluates the degree of contribution to the activity.
This course is activity-based and will be graded on each submission.
You cannot receive credit for a course if you are absent more than 4 times. Please note that arriving more than 30 minutes late to a class or leaving a class when there are 30 minutes or more of the class period left will count as an absence. In addition, arriving to class less than 30 minutes late 3 times will count as 1 absence. Similarly leaving class early 3 times (when there are less than 30 minutes of the class left) will count as an absence.

Will be introduced when necessary.

Participants are expected to participate in class activities actively having individual goals to achieve by the end of semester.
Also, students are encouraged to take the advantage of living in Japan involving themselves in various activities to broaden their perspectives.
