Japanese (Intermediate) II

副題

授業の内容

This course is intended for students who have completed beginner-level Japanese and can communicate at a level roughly equivalent to the CEFR A2 range and approaching early B1. The course enables students to build upon foundational skills and acquire more complex grammatical structures and expressions. Learners will develop the ability to express opinions, describe experiences, and engage in short conversations on familiar topics. Through various classroom activities, students will be able to manage routine interactions, summarize simple information, and use a broader range of vocabulary appropriate for daily life in Japan, while steadily developing a balanced proficiency in the four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing.

到達目標

・Can develop comprehensive Japanese language skills in reading, listening, speaking, and writing.
・Can learn the grammar items of the early intermediate level Japanese book and acquire the skills to turn the their knowledge into actual communication.
・Can read explanatory texts and opinion essays as well as speak and write about their ideas.
・Can learn about Japanese culture, reflect on their own culture and deepen the intercultural understanding.

授業の方法

This course will be conducted as a set with the Monday and Friday classes. Please make sure to enroll in all three classes.
The class will be conducted in an exercise format.

成績評価の基準と方法の補足

Speaking and Listening tests (in both Midterm and Final exams) will be conducted in Tuesday classes.

If you miss five classes, your learning will be not assessed. Please note that arriving more than 30 minutes late to a class or leaving a class when there are 30 minutes or more of the class period left will count as an absence. In addition, arriving to class less than 30 minutes late 3 times will count as 1 absence. Similarly leaving class early 3 times (when there are less than 30 minutes of the class left) will count as an absence.

If you have influenza or COVID-19, only those who have been diagnosed by a medical institution will be considered for an excused absence.
Please submit a medical certificate to your instructor.
If you do not visit a medical institution or are not officially diagnosed, your absence will not be excused.
